Well, we love to show off our pools! We have a brand new "zero entry" pool (instead of steps or ladders there is a gradual slope downward into the water) perfect for those new to the swimming experience. Additionally, our newly renovated larger pool is 9' deep at the deep end.

Children will engage in an instructional swim in the morning and a recreational swim in the afternoon.  On days where the heat is deemed oppressive, other activities will be shelved in order to offer a third or even a forth swim if necessary. Can you imagine? ... We have never had a child complain that they swim too much!

As for our lifeguards, they are all Red Cross trained and certified. Additionally, we have FIVE WSI (water safety instruction) certified lifeguards! Most camps have one WSI certified lifeguard - Cherokee has FIVE!

Our lifeguards are very adept at encouraging even those little swimmers who might be timid or even petrified of the water. Moreover, if your little swimmer is a fish in the water - the lifeguards can instruct them in advanced competitive strokes! We have every camper covered.
